AYAP

In 2020, I co-founded the Association of Yemeni Academics and Professionals (AYAP) to assist Yemeni academics abroad and to create a collaborative network of Yemeni academics and professionals. We have a Facebook group and a Youtube channel. We share information on grants and job opportunities, write recommendation letters, and organize a monthly webinar on Yemeni issues. In each webinar, we talk with the scientists in and out of Yemen. I was the moderator of two of them:

  • Status and Prospect of Solar Energy in Yemen, 28 Nov2020

  • Yemen’s wind harvesting potentials, 05 Jun 2021

Mission: is to create a collaborative network of Yemeni academics and professionals who will organize and channel resources to advocate, support, advance, and create opportunities for the development, growth, and sustainability of Yemen.

Goals:

1- Facilitate knowledge generation and exchange among academics and professionals.

2- Establish a network of active experts in areas of sustainable development.

3- Advocate for education and learning as a vehicle for the advancement of Yemeni society.

4- Promote cooperation and facilitate collaboration between international partners with academic and professional entities in Yemen.
